Join us this week as we chat about things we’ve done that we knew we would regret in the moment but did them anyway! We also discuss some interesting information Henny came across this week about water consumption and are, once again, shaking our heads at how easily we can be swayed by one-off research studies. Finally we chat a bit about a couple of Netflix shows we’ve been enjoying (Down to Earth with Zac Efron - Henny; Unorthodox - Sandy) and how much we can learn from seeing how other people live and how people around the world are working to be healthy and well. Have you ever done anything you knew you would regret?

Join us this week as we chat about our WW journeys in three parts: what worked for us, what didn’t work for us, and what we wish we’d known sooner or what we wish WW spent more time talking about. (We stole the structure from Jolenta Greenberg and Kristen Meinzer’s book, How to Be Fine, which was absolutely delightful, and you should all read it too!) We also spend a bit of time poking fun at Sandy’s husband and discussing our own intense need to have our laundry folded a specific way. Anyone else particularly particular?

Join us this week as we chat about a true crime story that hits close to home, and then Henny has to apologize. We are constantly learning, and we have no choice but continue to do better. On the food front, Henny tells us all about her recent experience with “mock 5 cup salad” with cottage cheese, and Sandy encourages us to try her “mock potato salad” with cauliflower (Henny's not convinced). Finally, we discuss how we have been encouraged to rebuild habits and refocus priorities throughout our quarantined time and ponder how we can make our futures better by reflecting on the past.

Join us this week as we chat about how much we love food (shocker!) and our “eating out” habits. Then we go down a rabbit hole talking about all things food: food Henny used to pack in her elementary school lunch, food Sandy has been making in Lima and risking getting in trouble for, food we love to eat as leftovers, and how McDonalds used to keep their food warm. Then we discuss how important it is for everyone to work some sort of retail or food service job to learn not only employable skills but empathy as well.

Join us this week as we chat about raw food that we like to eat (or used to eat) and each of us is convinced that the other has the weirder list. Sandy unpacks some of the new information she has learned from reading Nina Teicholz’s book, The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat, and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet. Finally, we can’t say enough about the brilliance of Morgan Spurlock’s recent documentary, Supersize Me 2: a look into what it takes to start a fast food restaurant, from market research to farming to delivering a product to the consumer. You can find the documentary on Amazon Prime.

Join us this week as we chat about why we chose to start this podcast and how we feel our podcast as evolved over the course of sixty episodes. We discuss the very first podcasts each of us ever listened to, the podcasts we’re listening to now, and the podcast episodes that Dr. Gary Foster was featured on that you absolutely have to listen to (Sound Bites: A Nutrition Podcast - episodes from June 3, 2019 and December 11, 2019). Finally, we delve into a convo about thought patterns and the importance of taking note of our thoughts so that we can savour the good ones and let the negative ones go. What good thoughts/moments/events have you been savouring lately?

Join us this week as we chat a bit about some of the fun we’ve been having with FitOn activities through our WW app (FitOn also has its own app) and Billy Blanks’ TaeBo workouts on YouTube! Then we get deep. We talk about some of our takeaways from the thoughtful advice shared by Esther Perel, therapist and creator of the podcast Where Should We Begin, and Jay Shetty, former monk and motivational speaker, on Oprah’s current 4-week live talk series for WW members, A Vision Forward. Finally we discuss the importance of recognizing privilege, talking about issues in the world today, and speaking up/out/against injustice. Sandy and Henny are both excited about diving into Celeste Ng’s Little Fires Everywhere. Anyone else read or watched it?

Join us this week as we chat about the Enneagram Test after having heard all about it on Brené Brown’s podcast, Unlocking Us. We break down the 9 personality types presented in the test, discuss the benefits and drawbacks of a personality test in the first place, and delve into our own test results. We’ve also been enjoying Oprah’s Your Life in Focus: A Vision Forward Live Virtual Experience and hope you have been too! There will be more to say about that soon! Also . . . does anyone else have an obsession with chargers?

Join us this week as we chat about the benefit of splitting up experiences that make you happy into smaller chunks and the “rewirements” Henny is working on as she continues through the Science of Well Being course she’s taking. We also discuss (and absolutely LOVE) Alicia Keys' memoir, More Myself. We know we mentioned it before, but now that Sandy is almost finished it, we’ve got lots to say. Finally, we muse about what it means to have real dialogue - to really hear and process other people’s ideas - and to do it in a non-judgemental way that allows both parties to learn and grow. It also turns out that we just can’t help ourselves but use old adages and expressions!
Are you reading anything you think we should discuss on the podcast? Let us know!

Join us this week as we chat about our thoughts of the new documentary on Netflix about Michelle Obama’s book and book tour, Becoming. We also discuss the importance of being heard, how all of us need to feel empowered to use our voices, and the fact that when we share something - particularly something vulnerable - we’re not necessarily looking for advice. It seems like it wouldn’t be a complete episode if we didn’t mention the dangers of social media, so there’s some of that in there too! Hope you enjoy!
