Join us this week as we chat about what we each find the easiest and the hardest part of the WW journey to be. It may be surprising to know that we did not pick the same things! Sandy has officially begun her Culinary Nutrition course and has been learning all about how to set up your kitchen for success, so we talk about what the absolute essentials are when it comes to appliances and utensils. We also gush over our love of living in pyjamas . . . anyone else with us on that one?!

Join us this week as we chat about how dangerous deprivation can be when it comes to building a healthy lifestyle and how detrimental the idea of a “cheat day” is to having a positive mindset and developing habits that encourage moderation. Henny apologizes for the podcast editing mishap that occurred in last week’s episode, and Sandy talks about a new memoir she’s reading: Jasmin Singer’s Always Too Much and Never Enough. Finally, we chuckle about how soon we start thinking about what we’re going to eat for our next meal (Hint: It’s probably WAY too soon)! Do you have foods that you truly think you “can’t” have?

Join us this week as we chat at some length about Brian Tracy’s book about procrastination and time management, Eat That Frog! (Yes, Henny has actually read it finally!) We also discuss Henny’s first experience with Mason Jar Salads and Sandy’s new podcast find: Smart Less with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett. Truly, if you’re looking for a laugh, you need to check it out (after you’ve listened to us, obviously). Finally we start thinking a bit about our identities. How does who we are affect the things we do? How does what we do affect the people we are?

Join us this week as we chat about a couple of great books that we have read (well, kind of) and that you should read too! Sandy also calls Henny out on a couple of things, and we all learn that Henny might not be as kind as she portrays herself to be. Finally, we discuss how we can use time efficiently and how we can waste so much time doing all sorts of mindless things (YouTube rabbit-hole, anyone?!)! What do you spend more time doing than you care to admit?

Join us this week as we chat about the Wear Your Support campaign by Reitmans about which Henny is very excited. Sandy also shares about her experience enjoying an 11-course tasting menu (super posh) and her current listening obsessions (did you say, “Dolly”?!)! Finally, we discuss what we’ve been learning while reading Michael Moss’ Salt Sugar Fat about marketing, the food industry, and how it’s connected to us. Does anyone else tear up at the Coca Cola ads that always come out around the holiday season (or is that just us)?

Join us this week as we chat about the importance of community particularly as it pertains to health. We all need people in our lives who can be our buddies when we are looking to make changes with our food, to delve into new activities, and to get real about what’s going on with our bodies. We discuss our recent listening endeavour: The Michelle Obama Podcast on Spotify! And we get the update on Sandy’s true feelings about tripe: yay or nay?

Join us this week as we chat about Sandy’s new mission in Lima (you’ll have to listen to find out what it is). Henny has learned some new vocabulary that can be used to describe food, so we just have to delve into that for a while. Then we discuss how the world might be different if we never knew how must we (or anyone else) weighed. Would we find different ways to measure our health and wellness? Would we find other numbers about which to obsess? What do you think? Share your ideas with us!

Join us this week as we chat about what we learned we need to do and eat if we want to live into our 100s. Then we discuss a recent article from the Globe and Mail about redefining obesity and ending the stigma against overweight. The article makes us think more about the BMI, other measures of overall health and wellness, and the importance of having health care professionals who understand obesity and - more importantly - who understand how to talk with and support people who have obesity. Have you read this article? What are your thoughts?

Join us this week as we chat about the fast food restaurants we loved as children (and the ones we still love today). We reminisce fondly about our experiences (albeit decades apart) playing in McDonalds’ Play Places. We also discuss our experiences watching an episode of My 600lb Life. Sandy explains how she stumbled across the show and the empathy that she has developed through watching it. Henny cries. Sorry for the sniffles.

Tuesday Jul 28, 2020
Join us this week as we chat about Henny’s adventure with noodles made from yam fibre. We also discuss the By the Book podcast by Jolenta Greenberg and Kristen Meinzer because we both find it absolutely delightful. Finally, Sandy shares what she’s learning from reading Cribsheet by Emily Oster: there is no one right decision about anything. We think a bit about how we made the decision to join WW and all the different decisions we make daily to be healthy and well. The decisions we make are right for us, but that doesn’t mean decisions other people make are wrong.
Also: SO SORRY about the weird sound on Henny’s end this week! We had some headset issues that will be solved for next week!
