Tuesday Apr 20, 2021

Join us as we chat about radical self-love, irresistible behaviours, and deep-freezers. We have a lot to say about a podcast episode we recently listened to with Brené Brown and Sonya Renee Taylor, the author of The Body is Not An Apology. Sandy is trying out some new mantras to appreciate her body more and Henny recalls different ways she has attempted to apologize for the size of her body moving through the world. Then we discuss a book about behavioural addictions and decide that being the architect of your own environment is necessary for building the habits you want and avoiding the habits you don’t. Finally, Henny gets teased for having multiple bags of frozen vegetables in her deep freezer (if you’re not storing veg in there, what are you using it for?!). What’s in your freezer that you might have forgotten about?

Join us as we chat about all things environmental, sustainable, and green. Henny’s growing fresh herbs in an AeroGarden, Sandy’s drying her fresh herbs in the microwave, and we’ve both just watched Seaspiracy on Netflix and have A LOT to say about it. We also discuss the idea of mast fruiting and how clever trees really are. Who knew?! Finally, Sandy has become a true shorts-wearer, and Henny could not be more proud!

Tuesday Apr 06, 2021

Join us as we chat about our roots; that’s right, we’re both Hamilton girls and proud of it (Fun Fact: Henny is actually originally from Fruitland). We also discuss the emotional roller coaster that is the prime time television show: This Is Us. Finally, it would seem that our podcast isn’t complete with a quick update on our reading, and we take this opportunity to completely fan girl about an upcoming book authored by none other than WW Chief Science Officer, Dr. Gary Foster (a.k.a. Sandy’s major crush). Are you going to be reading The Shift with us in the Fall of 2021?

We can an update on Sandy’s reading (she’s got a couple of dynamite books on the go) and an update on Henny’s cooking adventures (yes, they do involve black beans). Finally, Sandy walks us through the world of tinctures and elixirs. Sound magical? It is!

Join us as we celebrate our ONE HUNDREDTH episode today! (And we went a bit long . . . hope that’s okay with you!) Our theme today was “our very best” and we run through many of our “bests” related to the four WW pillars (food, activity, sleep, mindset) and some categories of things we love (books, music, podcasts, our bodies). We’re so thankful to anyone who listens to us and shares in our lives through this podcast. Here’s to another hundred! (Yikes!)

Join us as we chat about all the kitchen shenanigans Sandy is getting up to in her Everyday Herbal course through the Academy of Culinary Nutrition . . . oil infusions, bath bombs, drinking vinegar, etc. We also talk at length about our latest read, a book about being a Foodist. Suffice it to say that we both loved it and had lots to say about it. Finally, Sandy shares her latest Facebook find: a cool group featuring a bunch of WW members who are also food bloggers and culinary masters (or, at least, we think so).

Tuesday Mar 09, 2021

Join us as we chat about Henny’s plan for ensuring she doesn’t skip out on tough workouts and Sandy’s culinary prowess and successful English Muffin creation. We take another trip down memory lane as we reminisce about things we remember from school (we’re talking everything from how to read a sewing pattern to how a castle was built in Medieval Times with turrets, a moat, and a drawbridge). Finally, we discuss the flexibility we have with the three coloured plans with myWW+ and how silly it is to be afraid about switching between them.

Tuesday Mar 02, 2021

Join us as we chat about the fact that any success we’re looking for comes from making the very smallest of changes. Sandy is adamant that she will never wear a corset, and Henny shares her latest obsession: re-watching clips of winning Olympic moments. We also discuss a documentary that Henny watched recently called Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things and an episode of the WW Presents Podcast that Sandy particularly enjoyed. P.S. Does anyone else think corsets are crazy?

Tuesday Feb 23, 2021

Join us as we chat about the things we keep track of (and we’re not talking only SmartPoints and weight) and where we keep track of them. Sandy has a great question about movies that she borrowed from a podcast she’s started listening to (Films to Be Buried With), and we have fun going down memory lane for a bit. Then Sandy makes fun of Henny for having a deep freezer (doesn’t everyone have one?). Finally, Henny shares some super fascinating facts about the BMI that she learned on an episode of another podcast she stumbled across (Rebel Eaters Club). Join us!

Tuesday Feb 16, 2021

Join us as we chat about the ins and outs and ups and downs of building and maintaining relationships using Jancee Dunn’s book, How Not to Hate Your Husband After Kids, as a starting point. We laugh knowingly at her assertion that one of the most common arguments that happens between people who cohabitate is about how to load the dishwasher! Sandy regales us with her latest culinary adventures . . . she’s growing her own sprouts, making her own recipes, and using a slower cooker (sort of). Finally, we discuss Sandy’s latest podcast love: Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard. Do you listen to that one too?
